Built in 1885, Penweir Cottage still boasts many of its original features, including exposed wooden beams and an open fire (don’t worry there’s central heating as well). It has been recently and sympathetically renovated and furnished to a beautiful standard, making the cottage a light and airy space, with wooden flooring and comfortable and contemporary decor throughout.

With all the essential mod cons (including super-fast broadband and WiFi) and its comfortable, stylish and welcoming atmosphere, Penweir Cottage is the ideal base for your stay in Cornwall.

Family friendly

Penweir Cottage is fully equipped for the hustle and bustle of family life; if you’ve got young children then please be assured that the cottage has the following freely available:

  • stair gate at bottom of staircase

  • a cot (arranged with advance notice)

  • indoor and outdoor toys and games

  • high chair

  • evening babysitting can be arranged on request

Green space

With its south-facing aspect, the gardens provide a sunny haven, with plenty of safe and secure space for children and dogs to play all day long.

After a day of exploring, feel free to make use of the BBQ for an evening of laid back holiday fun.

And if you need even more space for your youngsters, feel free to let them through the gate to explore the beautiful large community green space and play park that adjoins the property.

Every comfort

We know very well the importance of having everything you need to hand for a comfortable and relaxing holiday stay, and over the many years that we’ve been hosting, we think we’ve pretty much come to know exactly what our guests need.

Whether it’s somewhere to dry out wetsuits and store surfboards, spare beach equipment for the little ones, a gas BBQ for impromptu meals al fresco, a great coffee maker or a myriad of other useful somethings ~ we’ve got you covered.

We like to think we’ve covered all bases when it comes to providing everything you need for a relaxing stay with us at Penweir Cottage, but if there’s anything extra that might help you to feel at home, please do let us know in advance of your stay.

    We have a stair gate and high chair with a tray available for your use, but we kindly ask you to provide your own travel cot.

The Barn Annexe

Our self-contained annexe accommodation provides the ultimate break out space from the main cottage and handy additional accommodation for two guests.

Perfectly equipped to allow a little quiet retreat if required, the annexe is a one bedroom barn conversion, available as either a twin or a double, with its own ensuite facilities and kitchenette, which echoes the same beautiful, coastal style as the rest of the property.

The Barn Annexe is not made available as standard with Penweir Cottage but can be added to your booking at an additional cost of £…. per week.

Please note, the Barn Annexe is not available without a booking for Penweir Cottage and can only be made available for the entire duration of your stay at Penweir, unfortunately we are unable to accommodate requests for use of the Barn Annexe for part of a longer stay at Penweir Cottage.
